Taking a Chance

Wow! I was really on a roll with my blog posts and then I got side tracked. Quite honestly, I get side tracked pretty easily and quite frequently.

A couple of months back, I was faced with a tough decision- go back to work and live comfortably financially, or continue staying home with the kids and struggle. I chose to stay home and up until this month we were holding our own. We didn't have any extra, but there was enough to spread around. We were robbing Peter to pay Paul, and now Peter's broke.

I have been looking for a family that needs childcare, in order to bring in extra income; and thanks to Daycare Mom I have talked with 3 different families. Unfortunately, none of them panned out and about a month ago I started to get nervous. Real nervous. Please understand, I am not lazy or unwilling to work.  I will do whatever I need to do to keep a roof over our heads, food in our bellies and shoes on our feet. I will work 100 hours a week if that's what's needed to pay the bills BUT, my girls are my everything, and they come first. If I can provide the necessities without having to work 100 hours, that's going to be my choice. If I can go without a haircut, new clothes, or a pedicure so that I  can be the one with my children all day, that's the choice I will continue to make.

So having said all that, I am taking a chance. It really is my last hope before having to return to the workforce full time, which means putting the girls in daycare full time. Four days ago, I became an Independent Consultant for the Pampered Chef. I am hoping and praying that this is my answer! I was a little hesitant at first because I once became a Mary Kay Consultant and never sold anything. Not. One. Single. Thing.

But this is going to be different. Now I am motivated. My girls are depending on me. The Captain is counting on me. I'm confident that I can do anything that I set my mind to, and I am determined to make this work for me. I am determined fulfill my dream of being at home with my babies.
